My parents have come into hard times over the last few years and due to bill collectors are now thinking about filing for bankruptcy. My parents needed to sell their house and move since they aren't able to really keep up with their bills. My father also tried finding new work but after a month of working he just couldnt handle it anymore due to both illness and injuries. He currently has a pending social security disability case pending and it may still take another 10 months minimum. They now live with me again and I have been paying most of their bills through my checking/savings accounts. I also have some money in my account from the sale of their house most of which is from money they owed me from using my credit cards over the years to pay off house maintenance expenses etc. So my questions are as follows: - Will them filing for bankruptcy have any affect on myself? - Can they go after any of the money that was linked to the sale of their house that is currently in my bank account? - Will this have any affect on my fathers disability case? - Will the fact they are currently living with someone with a stable income have any affect on the hearing?

I filed a small claim in April 2007 for total damages about $1500. There was no damage to my car but I hit my babysitters car who was doubleparked in front of my townhouse. High cost of insurance for retirees which is using up pensions.?

I worked 33 yrs at McDonnell Douglas (Boeing) Aircraft Corporation and retired in 1996. I received a fair pension and insurance that I had to pay, which was affordable. What started out to be affordable in 1996 has now reached unaffordable in 2007. My pension is being quickly absorbed by the cost of my insurance, which is now $933 a month for just me. Needless to say my insurance costs outweigh my monthly pension allowance now. Ok, So I have insurance through UAIC. I was not aware till the research i've done they are the biggest losers in the business. Here's my issue, my car was vandalized on november 12 of this year. No a scratch, ding or dent showroom conidition I would say at the time. I filed the claim the same day of the 12th of November. Well I finally got a call back today on december 13th. Telling me the insurance estimator for them said the car had prior wear and tear. For pain and suffering money, how much is enough to ask for from your own car ins. company?

I was in a car accident where the other driver was at fault (under 18 yrs old, no drivers' liscence, no car insurance, failed to yeild). My car was in the shop for 3-4 weeks, I just finished chiropractic care, and my ins. adjuster is going to meet w/ me soon. I have full coverage insurance plus 'uninsured drivers insurance'. I need some advice. I am an assistant manager at a small call center where I have worked for around 5 years (3 of them full-time). It was just announced to me and the manager (the only 2 full-time employees), that we have been bought by another call center that is not located in our town. My mother thought to put me on her policy with Progressive and I would pay her for the insurance, but they were going to charge her over $500.00 to do so. My friend has gotten into two accidents and hasn't had to pay nearly that much , and neither did her dad when he put her on his policy.
